  • Breanne Schiffer, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Laryngology within the Division of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the Ļć½¶ŹÓʵ of Utah.

    Dr. Schiffer completed her fellowship training in Laryngology under the guidance of Dr. Marshall Smith at the Ļć½¶ŹÓʵ of Utah. She also completed her residency training in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the Ļć½¶ŹÓʵ of Utah. She believes in a multi-disciplinary team-based approach to the management of patients with voice, swallow, and airway concerns and has a particular interest in the medical and surgical treatment of voice disorders.

    She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M Ļć½¶ŹÓʵ in College Station, TX, and received a Master in Public Health from the Ļć½¶ŹÓʵ of Texas School of Public Health. She completed medical school at the Long School of Medicine – Ļć½¶ŹÓʵ of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX, where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

    Dr. Schiffer's clinical interests in Laryngology include vocal fold paralysis, vocal fold nodules, polyps, and cysts, laryngeal reinnervation, in-office vocal fold augmentation, vocal fold laser treatments, laryngeal microsurgery, zenker's diverticulum repair, cricopharyngeal myotomy, botox treatment for voice disorders, and endoscopic treatment of airway stenosis.

    Dr.Shiffer has literally saved my life and has given me the ability to breathe. She has performed a difficult surgery on my airway, and even though I live 6 hours away, she has been compassionate and keeps my family updated on my status. I have been very impressed un the quality of care I have received by her and the rest of her staff!
